When a room is dark, the sensor detects this, and lowers the brightness of the screen. When the room is bright, the brightness is increased. If you would like more control over the brightness, or want to turn off this feature completely, go into the TV menu, select ?settings?, then ?Picture? and then ?Energy Saving?.
